The consultative ballot will begin this week on the introduction of a new pay and grading structure to replace the current workforce pay and benefits review (WPBR) which was proved to be discriminatory.
The Joint Unions then met with the employer and ultimately negotiated a series of substantial improvements that can be viewed by contacting GMB Branch 74 for a copy of the ACAS conciliation report:
As Glasgow City Council have issued their full and final offer, we are duty bound to take these proposals to the membership to either accept or reject.
Members in fully evaluated roles will see both core pay and allowances change from April 2027. Those without a final evaluation, Secondary benchmarks and Uniques will see allowance changes (if you receive them) in April 2027.
We are working with Glasgow City Council to ensure that the SBM and Uniques are concluded as soon as reasonably practicable.
We are also working hard with the council to mitigate any losses that our members may occur through detriment. This includes utilising the appeals procedure, service reform, ER/VR, alternative employment etc.
All members are entitled to vote as these proposals affect everyone.
