GMB Scotland in Glasgow City Council Pay and Grading Consultative Ballot

GMB Scotland in Glasgow City Council

Pay and Grading Consultative Ballot

Dear GMB Member

The driving purpose of GMB throughout this last period has been to enable our members to make the ultimate decision on whether the new proposed Pay and Grading model will be implemented whilst negotiating the best offer we could through negotiations.

GMB made no deals, we made no agreements – we would not and cannot do that.

We fought for our members ability to make the decision, not have their future decided for them!

It would have been a betrayal, if, after 7-years of negotiations, members were not consulted and could not vote on the outcome of discussions with your employer.

Trade Union democracy is at the heart of everything we do – we are member led; you are the decision-making body of your Union.

Attached document  – we have included a document that details any progress made throughout negotiations. In this document, we detail the Council’s position, the Joint Unions position and the improvements we secured through the negotiations process.

The ballot closes on 9th November. The overall result will be shared following this.

GMB Representatives will still be attending as many workplaces as possible in the coming weeks to answer any questions and ensure as many members are able to vote.

Only GMB members can vote in this ballot.
